About me.
The study: I completed my under graduate and Masters degrees in Psychology between 1994 - 1997 and completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology between 1997 and 1999, graduating in 2000. I have been working as a Clinical Psychologist since then and have worked in a range of mental health areas. I have generally worked in adult and young person mental health but also in forensic mental health settings.
The work: I have worked with people with a wide range of mental health difficulties including (but not exclusively): mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, trauma and grief issues, women’s health and maternal mental health, relationship difficulties, work stress, behavioural issues and problems with addiction, chronic health issues and fertility. In summary - I work with people who are struggling with stuff that feels big and hard and sometimes overwhelming.
The life: I am married with two teenage children and have lived in Wellington / Te Whanganui-a-Tara for nearly 30 years. I love my family and friends, being a mum to my two kids and my two cats, the environment, living in Aotearoa and my job.
